The Pastors Network was born from the real pressures of pastoral ministry – the scramble for pulpit cover, the weight of administration, and the quiet burden of watching sister churches struggle alone.
As a pastor of a small inner-city church, I soon realised that the administrative load was far more than expected. In days gone by, a dedicated church secretary might have carried that weight, but today, many of us carry it alone.
I’ve built the Pastors Network out of my own experience – the scramble for pulpit cover, the endless administrative tasks, as well as the heart-heavy burden of seeing sister churches struggle without leadership.
This isn’t just about ‘administration’; it’s about walking together so that our focus stays where it belongs: on the Gospel and the flock.
THE VISION
I know what it’s like to scramble for pulpit cover on a Saturday night. I know the weight of the administrative load and the endless stream of emails.
But more importantly, I belong to a small network of 14 churches – some of which have no pastor at all. Watching them carry that burden alone is what drove me to act.

Born out of my own need for pulpit cover, and finding it a frustrating experience, I realised we needed a trusted way to support one another when the pulpit is empty.
The Administrative Weight
Some pastors struggle with the administrative element of their work. I built these tools to manage the “business” end of the church so we can focus on the ministry of the Word.
The Strength of Fourteen
I have a heart for small churches and consider it vital that we support one another to the best of our ability – especially churches without Elders or Pastors.

We’re starting with a clear mission: to build a collective strength that ensures even the smallest church can stay in good order and every soul is rightly cared for.

Pastors Network was built with a small church network in mind, but it has a place for everyone. Whether you’re a single congregation finding your feet, or a large denomination looking for better ways to serve your churches, the tools here will work for you. And as the network grows, so will what’s on offer – shaped by the people using it.

Gordon is the pastor of Bethel Evangelical Church,set in the heart of Bolton town centre.
He has been the full-time pastor since 2020. The Pastors Network is built from his experience of the joys and pressures of pastoral ministry in a small independent church.
